I began my photography career at the University of Louisville where I studied photography basics in the art department and later developed my style as a photojournalist by working as the chief photographer at the student newspaper. Upon completion of my college experience, I spent several years as the chief photographer for a small daily in Indiana where I was fortunate enough to win awards and recognition from state and local journalism associations.
My foray into wedding photography happened by pure chance and the rest is history. I've maintained my documentary roots, believing in telling a story through pictures, but I was also influenced by contemporary portraiture and have incorporated this into my work as well. My style can be characterized as a fusion of photojournalism and modern portraiture.
I've photographed dozens upon dozens of weddings in the Louisville, Lexington and Souther Indiana areas, but I've also been lucky in that I've had the opportunity to shoot weddings from New York City to Los Angeles, in many parts of Florida and also the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. I absolutely love what I do and think that can't help but reveal itself in the work that I create.
A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event and there's only once chance to capture all of the anticipation, excitement, tears of joy, happiness and dance floor craziness! Selecting the right wedding photographer is an important choice to make. How do you want to remember your wedding day?
