Wedding, Portrait and Engagement Session Photography

Louisville Wedding Photography Blog

This blog highlights select examples of my wedding photography work, senior portraits, engagement sessions, family portraits and baby photography.

I'm based out of Louisville, KY, but regularly photograph weddings not only in the region and nearby states such as Indiana and Tennessee, but also in New York, Florida, and other parts of the Eastern United States.

Wedding Photojournalist Contest Winners

First, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Second I was happy to learn that the WPJA, an international wedding photojournalist association, announced its winners in their most recent quarterly contest and I was lucky enough to have a couple of winning images. The first picture below placed second in the Toasting category and the second placed twelfth in the Scene Setters category.

There's a lot of beautiful work on display--check it out if you have a chance!

Liz + David

This was the first time I photographed a wedding at this particular church and my first reception at the Brown. Both places were just beautiful--it was a gorgeous wedding. Congrats to you two!

I don't normally shoot the recessional from the balcony, but the red carpet made this one work for me.

Karly + Kyle

Ceremony: Glassworks
Reception: Same
The timing was perfect (for photography). The ceremony ended about 30-45 minutes before sunset and that gave us great light for after-ceremony formals. At the reception, the highlight had to be the groom/groomsman dance-off--made for great fun and great pictures!

Krysta + Ryan

Here are a few favorites from Krysta and Ryan's wedding taken earlier this month. Twilight on the river with the CQ Princess was just beautiful.
I love this portrait. Simple lighting is sometimes all you need.

As the mother of the bride I am extemely pleased with your ability to absolutely capture the magic of this day from the gathering at the church with anticipation to the absolute joy of the reception. Thank you!

Business First Article

A picture of Abby and Matt (a couple I photographed in June) was published in a Business First article that features the Frazier. It's the lead photo in the BizTrends section of the September 4th issue.

Kelly

Here are a few edits from a recent senior shoot with Kelly. She said she has some pre-shoot jitters, but I think she did great!

Lauren + Jordan

My first wedding post on the new blog! This one is from Lauren and Jordan's wedding, which was held earlier this month at the Frazier. All I have to say is these guys loved to dance. The last picture is of a guest, doing his best Michael Jackson screaming impression.

Stephanie + Tyler

Earlier this week I photographed an engagement session for Stephanie and Tyler, who are getting married later this year on New Year's Eve. The best light of the day are early morning and early evening. Mornings shoots are a little...early. We chose to go with the evening shoot. =)

The New Website is Here!

Finally, a long overdue update is up and running! I hope everyone enjoys the site (and the bigger pictures). The development of this site put me behind on updating the (now old) blog. Over the next few weeks I'll go back and post many of the shoots I did earlier this year, as well as continue to post all of the new stuff. Enjoy! =)
