Last weekend I spent a couple of hours assisting my friend Nina Greipel with her wedding at Garden Court. We had a lot of fun with an after ceremony photo session--complete with kilts and swords.

The weekend storm that knocked out power to a third of Louisville started about half an hour before Emily and Todd's wedding ceremony. We even lost power for a little bit, but it was a minor blip as the ceremony started only a few minutes behind schedule. We were gifted with some really nice light once the bad weather passed.

Famia + Daniel - Netherlands

Ceremony: De Havixhorst
Reception: Same
I've been fortunate to photograph weddings for clients all over the US, from New York to Los Angeles and many places in between. But last month I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph three ceremonies for Famia and Daniel--one at De Havixhorst, a chateau about an hour and a half east of Amsterdam, and then a week later two more ceremonies in Ghana (western Africa). It was quite an experience--I think I could get used to this whole international wedding photographer thing. =) This first blog entry features a few of my favorites from the Netherlands wedding. I'll have another post or two from Ghana over the next few days. Enjoy!

I don't know which photo I like the most - there are those funky flamenco-dancing shoesies, a pair of crazy rockers on the dance floor, or the beautiful happy couple that are made for each other (though I think the boy was assembled in an electronics factory right?) Ah happy memories and beautiful photos - congratulations Jo and Dave!

Karly + Kyle

Ceremony: Glassworks
Reception: Same
The timing was perfect (for photography). The ceremony ended about 30-45 minutes before sunset and that gave us great light for after-ceremony formals. At the reception, the highlight had to be the groom/groomsman dance-off--made for great fun and great pictures!

My first wedding post on the new blog! This one is from Lauren and Jordan's wedding, which was held earlier this month at the Frazier. All I have to say is these guys loved to dance. The last picture is of a guest, doing his best Michael Jackson screaming impression.
